Ekimatopeia is a device that visually shows environmental sounds, such as station broadcasts and train sounds, as characters, sign languages, and onomatopoeia on a big screen. We worked with children from the Kawasaki Municipal School for the Deaf to come up with the idea to let hearing-impaired people obtain necessary information in real time so their daily train use could be safer and securer.
