We've held a graphic design exhibition on the train to show nearly 300 works by our Graphic Design major students. The main purposes of this show were to 1) raise design students' awareness of the public, 2) showcase the works by students for the general public, especially for those who hardly visit arts and design exhibitions. The theme was TOKYO, since Yamanote Line is used by a huge number of passengers and is one of the icons of mega city. The show was opened with the chartered train which ran on whole circle (approx. 1 hour). We invited high school students and took them to "museum tour" on board. As the result, our exhibition gave an opportunity for both our students and the passengers to experience the relationship between design and society, and its significance in society.
