Outline
六本木西地区市街地再開発事業による、住宅、美術館等を含む一体開発の主翼を担うオフィス棟（泉ガーデンタワー）を応募対象とする。45階建、外リブ・ガラススティフナーの全面ガラスカーテンウォールの超高層オフィス。営団地下鉄南北線六本木一丁目駅に直結し、約70mの高さのあるアトリウムに面して75人乗りシースルーのシャトルエレベータを配置。平面的には、コア中央部に外部空間（「ボイドコア」）を残し、設備的構造的に利用している。建物の四角を上部に行くに従い段々に切り取って、スカイラインに変化を与えている。

古来より、天空を目指す建造物は、人々の絶えない「夢」であったと思う。 太陽を思いっきり受け、ときの流れを映し込みながら純粋に光り輝く透明なタワー。地上で日常的な生活を引き受ける低層部とは全く切り離させて空中に展開するタワーを実現したいと考えた。賑わいと自然、安らぎと緊張の調和する計画が今こそ求められている。

ガラスを多用した新しい表情のファサードはスカイスクレーパーの表現に対して新たな可能性を提示してくれる。建物を細かな棟に分節して表現する手法も、従来のスカイスクレーパーには無い新鮮な表現を可能にしている。
