Award Results
The GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2025 began accepting entries on April 1, and a total of 5,225 entries were subject to screening. Following a rigorous two-stage evaluation conducted by the judging committee, which was composed of leading figures from design-related fields in Japan and abroad, 1,619 entries were selected as award-winning works.
From among these, the GOOD DESIGN BEST 100 was selected, consisting of the top five entries from each screening unit. Furthermore, from the 20 entries chosen as the most outstanding in each of the 20 screening units, one was selected for the GOOD DESIGN GRAND AWARD and 19 for the GOOD DESIGN GOLD AWARD.
In addition, taking the opportunity of the upcoming “Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan,” this year marked the establishment of the SPECIAL AWARD FOR FUTURE SOCIETY DESIGN for which one entry was selected. Including this, a total of 33 special awards were presented.
Furthermore, 11 entries were selected for the GOOD DESIGN LONG LIFE DESIGN AWARD, which is bestowed upon products that have been continuously supported by people over many years.

METI, Business and Service Deputy Director General‘s Award
Presented to particularly advanced designs expected to contribute to the creation of new business models or industries and the promotion of innovation, chosen from among all award-winning works of the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2025.
GOOD FOCUS AWARD [DESIGN OF TECHNIQUE & TRADITION]
Small and Medium Enterprise Agency Commissioner’s Award
Presented to particularly outstanding designs that are realized by advanced techniques and skills, chosen from among all small and medium-sized enterprises' award-winning works of the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2025.
GOOD FOCUS AWARD [DESIGN OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT]
Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairperson’s Award
Presented to designs expected to make particular contributions to the sustainable development of the community and revitalization of the economy, chosen from among all award-winning works of the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2025.
GOOD FOCUS AWARD [DISASTER PREVENTION & RECOVERY DESIGN]
Japan Institute of Design Promotion Chairperson’s Award
Presented to outstanding designs expected to contribute to the prevention of and recovery from natural disasters, chosen from among all award-winning works of the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2025.
SPECIAL AWARD FOR FUTURE SOCIETY DESIGN
