Outline: EXPERIENCE JAPAN PICTOGRAMS are a novel set of visual symbols developed for people of all cultures and ages to enhance their tourism experience in Japan. It is a part of our agency's ongoing effort to visualize the allures of Japan and promote Japanese tourism.

Evaluation

This project made us recognize that the method of pictograms using no language enables us to convey the depth and breadth of Japanese culture to many people in Japan and from overseas. In addition, this project is very meaningful in the context where making this pictogram publicly available for free has led to the widespread use of high-quality information design, and this has become, in a sense, a branding of Japan in a large nationwide unit.
