Evaluation

Bridgestone Museum of Art, which was established in the 1950s before public museums have become popular in Japan, was reborn. It achieves a highly accurate design as an urban art museum incorporated in a high-rise building. While, needless to say, the extensive exhibition environment, signage, and fixtures created by the introduction of new technology are wonderful, it is worth noting that the interior space is developed not to make us feel closed even in the building, but to make us feel the city by securing visual lines toward everywhere outside. Such rich experience gained by visiting the museum will be reminiscent of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
