Outline: The building is a single dormitory operated by a hospital located in the center of Nagoya City. The site is located in an area of dense apartment complexes., the three-dimensional arrangement of the terraces allows for natural light and wind. Providing residents with a place for refreshment and communication, the dormitory was realized to support the new lifestyle in the COVID-19.

Evaluation

This company dormitory has a generous facade where joyful life there appears in the streetscape. Although it is a nine-story building, it brings no feel of pressure, by virtue of its excellent design. Rather, it makes us feel rich in living in the town. This is thanks to its slender proportion with a static grid frame and solid porous terrace. Similarly, each room is perfectly aligned within this grid frame, which realizes life with a sense of openness as if in open air like in the exterior terrace. It is a wonderful example of architecture that offers fun life and serves as a component of the town at the same time.
