First of all, we thought that the idea of a shared dormitory for employees of several companies was very interesting. Furthermore, this project’s grand vision is to create cities made of wood for the future. While the vision itself is ambitious, each individual part of the endeavor is solid and substantive. Firstly, efforts to develop fireproof structural elements are already underway, involving several universities and companies. In addition, rather than procuring timber through conventional forestry businesses, the project developers are trialing a different approach by specifying the purpose of use in advance and then working with trading companies and owners of mountainous land to fell suitable trees. Rather than being a deliberate ploy to do something different just for show, this approach of specially developing, procuring, and sawing construction timber to ensure that the right materials are used in the right place from the outset has resulted in a fresh, pleasant design. It would be fair to call this wonderful project a model for a recycling-based society and we have high hopes that future efforts using this kind of intellectual property will successfully blossom in society.
