Outline

Neo region, Motosu-city, Gifu has notably diverse vegetation. Takayama-city is famous as the lotus of Japan’s woodworking. In this project, foresters, sawmill operators, and woodworkers joined to make the most of imperfect broadleaved wood from Neo forest. These were cut in forming water source-protecting forests and diverge from commercial distribution. The team aims to develop a system to turn wood of various species and shapes into appealing products. Part of the sales will contribute to nurturing Neo forests. Thus completing a sustainable circle of utilizing local broadleaved wood.
