概要

The WW9000HE is a washing machine that sports an innovative design and provides unprecedented, distinctive functions that raise user convenience. We raised the drum 30mm and created the world's largest porthole for a 24-inch washing machine, thus enabling the user to easily unload laundry without having to bend down. The auto dispenser automatically measures how soiled the laundry is and the size of each batch, and automatically injects the detergent. The full touch screen provides an intuitive interface. These innovative technologies were adopted for detailed consideration of user needs.

デザインコンセプト

The rigid and mechanical image often associated with the washing machine, have been translated into a brand new personality full of elegance.

背景

The European super premium market for washing machines only accounts for two percent of the total market volume. However the market sector continues to grow and we do not yet have a washing machine model for that sector. There has been a dominant brand in the market for a long time. Therefore, we need a competitive and attractive product which can even appeal to the loyal customers of the brand.

デザイナーの想い

Everyone thinks big changes when they think of innovation. However, home appliances have a long life cycle that spans five to ten years, unlike small electronic goods. That's why design should not be something that responds to short term trends. The key is to move users with the thought and care that go into designing every detail of a product.

企画・開発の意義

We elevated the position of its drum 30 mm higher than existing washing machines and made its porthole wider in order to prevent users from bending their back or kneeling when they put or pull out the laundry. Importantly, we offered a full touch screen to provide users with an intuitive interface. we designed the machine to have users consider laundering "a fun experience",not"a household chore".

創意工夫

The Crystal-Blue door, created with double injection molding technology, refracts light to create a spectrum of colors, delivering extreme beauty. This design addresses environmental problems that arise from pollution caused by painting and chrome coating. We applied a full touch screen to provide an intuitive interface without restricting user choice. We wanted to do more than simply convert conventional analog keys into digital format. What we wanted was to redefine the user experience and create our own UX for washing machines. This interface provides the necessary information to users when they need them. The user can change the course and adjust the settings by engaging in familiar interactive gestures that he/she is already used to with smart devices. Doing
