Yoko Ando

Masuko Unayama

In 1999, he founded SyuRo Ltd. The company designs products and spaces for daily necessities in Japan and abroad, as well as directing shops, hotels and restaurants. In 2008, he opened a directly managed shop in Kuramae, Tokyo, contributing to the development of the Kuramae area. In recent years, he has opened SAMNICON in Miyota, Nagano Prefecture, a place where he can propose the next generation of recycling-oriented comfortable living and interior design. Masataka Nagahori

Akiyama founded STUDIO BYCOLOR in 2013, a design office that effectively utilizes colors and materials. She graduated from the Department of Design Science of the Faculty of Engineering at Chiba University in 2002, and worked for an office furniture manufacturer in Japan until 2012. She has won iF Design Award Gold, German Design Award, DFA Asian Design Gold Award, DIA Top100, Good Design Award and was also selected for LEXUS NEW TAKUMI PJ 2016. She is a part-time lecturer at the Department of Design Science of the Faculty of Engineering at Chiba University and the Department of Engineering and Design of the Faculty of Engineering and Design at Hosei University.

Takayuki Inoue

Born in 1973. He began his career at a design office, working on the product design of PCs and peripheral devices, home appliances, and information and communication equipment. He joined LIXIL Corporation in 2015, serving as a leader of housing product design at the LHT Design Center, and currently serves as its Director. Kimura is President of GK Graphics Inc. and a Director of GK Design Group Inc. Masaru Suzuki has led the fabric brand OTTAIPNU since 2004. After working at Honda R&D Co., Ltd., she founded FEEL GOOD CREATION, Japan’s first company specializing in CMF design. She currently operates SENSE-Laboratory, a platform dedicated to the social implementation of sustainable materials. Sosuke Nakabo

Shin Nishibori

Jidong Yang

Jae-han Jin

President Jae-han Jin of Gangwon Institute of Design Promotion led the successful bid to host the 2001 ICSID World Design Congress in Korea and was awarded the Order of Service Merit at the Korea Design Award for his contributions to enhancing the design and technological capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises. A former executive at Samsung Electronics, he is recognized for laying the foundation for Samsung’s design management. Wan-Ru Chou

After graduating from the Department of Design, Tokyo University of the Arts, Hashida joined the TOTO Ltd. Design Center where she designed toilets, faucets, kitchen, and system baths, and became Design Director in 2005. Assumed the post of Professor at Shibaura Institute of Technology in 2008. In addition to household equipment, she has designed office furniture and living ware, and also promoted local industries, making proposals for new uses which fit with the times. She obtained her Doctor of Engineering in 2013.

Manabu Tago

Naoki Terada

Kazuhiro Yamanaka

Kazuhiro Yamanaka is a designer whose work explores the relationship between objects and the spaces they inhabit. After studying design at the Royal College of Art in London, he founded Kazuhiro Yamanaka Office. Focusing primarily on lighting and furniture, he approaches objects as elements that shape spatial situations through form, light, material, and context. He has collaborated with international companies including Pallucco, Boffi, Ingo Maurer, and Ligne Roset, while also creating installations for museums and cultural institutions worldwide. Maholo Uchida

Uchida worked at the Miraikan National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation from 2002 to 2020, and works at the New York Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) as an overseas trainee for the Japanese Agency for Cultural Affairs in 2005. She specializes in the combined field of art, technology, and design, and promotes art & science projects. She actively involved with introducing Japanese culture through technological innovation and robots. She has participated in the Barbican Centre (London), Milano Triennale, and Paris Cultural Center as a guest curator and commissioner. She serves as a planner and advisor for museums outside of Japan.

Masayuki Moriguchi

Yuka Komada

Yui Tezuka

After graduating from Musashi Institute of Technology, Tezuka studied at the University College of London, Bartlett School of Architecture. In 1994, she established TEZUKA ARCHITECTS with Takaharu Tezuka. Including Fuji Kindergarten, which was selected as the best school by the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) and UNESCO, she undertook many spatial design projects for children. She received the Global Award for Sustainable Architecture from UNESCO. She is the author of "Takaharu + Yui Tezuka: Architecture Catalog (1 to 3)." She has been a part-time lecturer at Toyo University since 1999, a visiting professor at the University of California, Berkeley in 2006, and a part-time lecturer at the University of Tokyo since 2023.

Masahiro Harada

Manabu Chiba

Tatsuya Hatori

Chikara Ohno

Born in Osaka in 1976. Class-1 Architect. After studying urban engineering at Kanazawa University, he founded sinato Inc. in 2004. After joining NHK, Moriuchi worked as a designer on stage design and CG direction for television programs, exploring the possibilities of visual experience in public broadcasting. While seconded to an affiliated organization, he planned and produced experiential content in urban settings, including projection mapping at Tokyo Station. He later expanded his scope to corporate branding, program development, and sales strategy. Viewing design as structural planning, he has led cross-organizational strategy development and implementation. After serving as Director of the Design Center, Media Headquarters, he now oversees creative direction across broadcasting, events, and digital platforms. His major projects include the renewal of the NHK logo, stage design for Kohaku Uta Gassen, Tokyo Reborn, and AI Misora Hibari, which reconstructed Hibari Misora’s singing voice using AI. He has received the GOOD DESIGN GRAND AWARD.

Yoshiaki Irobe

Uchida graduated from Waseda University with a bachelors in Architecture and later received her masters in Sustainable City Design at Ferrara University in Italy. In 2013, she became a founding member of a Re:public Inc., which works with governments, companies, local citizens, and educational institutes to design innovation ecosystems with communities. She is also co-owner of A New Scale, an urban research collective. She conducts urban research activities with a focus on physicality, urban design, and art. Co-planned and edited the book "Ashiita no shigoto: Thinking with Asian Practitioners about Alternative Futures" (Kokuyo Co., Ltd.) She was appointed as a regional revitalization evangelist by the Cabinet Office in 2017.

Shogo Kishino

Born in Tokyo. In 2007, Kishino founded 6D, a graphic design studio. With a focus on visual identity for companies and products, he works across logo design, packaging, and environmental signage, and in recent years has also been involved in developing design systems across diverse fields. Daisuke Sakamoto

Based in Higashiyoshino Village, Nara Prefecture, he planned and designed the village-run shared office and coworking facility “Office Camp Higashiyoshino” in 2015 and has since overseen its operation. Together with colleagues he met through the facility, he co-founded the rural design firm Office Camp LLC. “Magical Dagashiya Tyrol-Do” in Ikoma, Nara, which he led, received the Grand Award of the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2022. In 2023, he co-launched LIVE DESIGN School, a learning platform exploring the future of design and regional communities.

Teppei Fujiwara

He has been working not only as an architect, but has also been engaged in design for community and industrial revitalization, crossing boundaries into various domains, such as art and the performing arts. His main works include “KURKKU FIELDS,” “Inamura House and Gardens,” “Yoyogi Terrace,” Nasu-Shiobara-shi machinaka interchange center “kururu,” and “Reborn-Art Festival 2017.” He has won the Culture and Arts Encouragement Award of the Yokohama Cultural Award, the Encouragement Award of the Japan Federation of Architects and Building Engineers Associations Award, etc. He was also a member of the steering, selection and exhibition committees of the UBE Biennale (International Sculpture Competition).

Oliver Lin

Oliver Lin is a Taiwanese design leader who has dedicated more than three decades to advancing Design in Taiwan and strengthening collaboration between the design sector and industry. Throughout his career, he has played a key role in bridging design, policy, and business, contributing to the long-term development of Taiwan’s design ecosystem. He has served as a juror for numerous international design awards, including the iF SOCIAL IMPACT PRIZE, CII Design Excellence Awards, iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD, Big International Design Competition, K-Design Award, GOOD DESIGN AWARD, VMARK – Vietnam Design Awards, DEmark Award, and the VINFAST Creative Design Competition. His expertise is widely recognized across global design communities. Oliver Lin is also frequently invited to speak at international conferences and professional events, sharing insights on design policy, innovation, and cultural strategy. His speaking engagements have taken him to countries such as Colombia, Japan, Korea, India, and Thailand. He has led major national and international initiatives, including serving as the project lead for the Taiwan Pavilion of the 2023 HAKKA EXPO and directing the content planning of the TECH WORLD Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka. Currently, Oliver Lin focuses on shaping national design strategies, fostering design-driven innovation within enterprises, and strengthening Taiwan’s presence in the global design landscape. Under the theme of “disability as a perspective for rethinking the world,” she plans and develops cross-disciplinary projects beyond conventional categories, reexamining how expression is perceived together with people with disabilities. Her recent work includes the film Night Cruising (2019); Dance Work in Progress with Creative Audio Descriptions (KAAT Kanagawa Arts Theatre and other venues, ongoing since 2017); the exhibition Rules? (21_21 DESIGN SIGHT, 2021); the exhibition Plurality of Narratives (Tokyo Shibuya Koendori Gallery, 2021); and the art project One Day (Cabinet Office Public–Private Partnership Platform for Regional Loneliness and Isolation Measures, 2025). In 2022, she was a visiting researcher at the Center for Disability Studies, New York University. Himari Saikawa

Saikawa is a co-founder of Tsubame Architects and an associate professor at Waseda University Art and Architecture School. Her activities are structured into two divisions: DESIGN, which focuses on spatial design, and LAB, which explores the framework before a space is established, as well as its use and development after completion through research. Her major works include BONUSTRACK (commercial facility, row house) and MORINOHA Office.
