A part of a Western-style building completed in 1928, the Kyushu University Facility, was acquired and revitalized as a new symbol of the city. Attempts to inherit the urban memory of the facade, the spatial memory of the staircase, and the material memory of the outer walls and fittings, and the symmetric facade with a steel frame ensures expandability according to changes in the environment.
