Outline: We have always focused on architectural education for children, including children-only tours and workshops at our annual Open House Osaka since 2014. "Architecture for the first time" is our first book that asks a variety of questions with rich photographs and illustrations, and encourages children to think and work on their own to discover the fun of architecture.

Evaluation

There is an argument that "Design" should be introduced in mandatory subjects in Japan's educational system. It is "design," not craft or art. Although it is not yet realized in public education, this project deserves appreciation in that it has given children an opportunity to learn about architectural design. The continuity of the project, which has been ongoing since 2014, is also wonderful. Being spread throughout Japan, these efforts will create a society where people can talk about architecture and design as a matter of course and develop the ability to judge and appreciate them.
