Outline: "Nuka-bitsu" is a brand new design of the salted rice bran paste tub that fits in today's lifestyle. Sharing the benefits of the old-fashioned Japanese cedar tub in which microorganisms can breathe as well as the fact there's no need to drain surplus water, the oval shape and the new antibacterial urushi-coated design make it easier for those who take care of it.

Evaluation

While fermented food is once again attracting attention, Taruya with a long history lasting since 1846 is trying to manufacture salted rice bran paste tubs as part of modern manufacturing. Precisely calculating where to fit in a refrigerator, including size, height, and oval shape, the product has is well-considered in details to fit in our everyday lives. The considerate design partially using Japanese lacquer in order to prevent mold growth, which makes us want to use this product for life, attracted high appraisal from the judges.
