Reminiscence therapy is a treatment used in rehabilitation for dementia patients in which they are asked to discuss objects they remember from their past. The NHK Reminiscence Library assembles old television footage. Care workers can use it to provide easy access to the therapy. It also uses material from the archives to create virtual reality reproductions of everyday life in old-time Japan.
