This project turned an old business district near Hatchobori Station into an ultra-high-rise, seismically-strong residential complex where people can enjoy life in central Tokyo, as well as a walkable commute to Tokyo Station. Though factors such as falling birthrates, an aging society and more dual-income families are leading people to favor city-center life, such areas are often dull business districts full of old office buildings. Brillia THE TOWER revitalizes one such area. The design combines water, greenery and public plazas to encourage community interaction. The ultra-high-rise residential tower at the center has seismic base isolation technology, storage for community emergency supplies and community rooms. Residents enjoy a fulfilling living environment close to Tokyo Station.
