The 100-year-old house was rebuilt by 3 families, who live in a local town of Ono city, heavy snowfall area, Fukui. With its next-generation performance, the house can take in local natural energy actively and harmoniously; therefore, they can live a much longer, safer, lively and more comfortable life, feeling the warmth of wood, without changing their lifestyles, which their ancestors kept on there. It has high heat insulation performance of “reinforced hull standards”, a stove burning lumber there, and a cool breeze coming from the hill behind it. This is why they don’t need an air conditioner year round. The theme of the house is coexistence of regional characteristics of natural environment, the look of the town and their lifestyles and of next generation performance or durability.
