This is an Urban Tourist Hotel, a project in front of JR Yamanote Otsuka station, operating under Hoshino Resort’s new brand “OMO” for tourists. There are 125 small rooms, each about 20㎡, and a lounge space that functions as a cafe bar. The biggest enchantment of the hotel is that, through minimal service features, and allowing a connection with the city, a more profound experience with the city is possible and at a lower price point. Some of the attractions of old cities is that the city itself becomes the hotel’s restaurant when integrated with hotel services. With shrines, streetcars, tree lined streets, the preexisting characteristics of the city are utilized as allures for the stay, presenting a new way to travel called Urban Tourism.
