Outline

KAKAXI is an agricultural IoT device to deliver food production process to consumers. We aim to increase the value of agriculture by sharing the process from planting to harvesting to consumers who have only seen cleaned and packaged food. In addition, since sensors such as temperature and humidity are built in, producers can conduct more precise agriculture based on data. Built-in 3G communication module with world-ready SIM enables the device to work properly in over 120 countries worldwide by simply turning it on. Also it works with enclosed solar panel, so no worry about outdoor use.

Evaluation

Fixed-point observation devices have mainly been used for security purposes until now, but this IoT device linking agricultural producers with consumers has been designed to meet customer wants and facilitate engagement between producers and consumers. While it was inspired by growing consumer interest in traceability, consideration has been given to the feelings of the producer as well, to ensure that they do not feel pressure or a sense of being under surveillance. The resultant compact, simple form gives a sense of how easily it can be installed.
