Cedar has traditionally been an essential part of Japanese daily life, such as the framework and other parts of housing for countless generations. We developed MADOBA, using cutting-edge technology in order to overcome the shortcoming of cedar's softness when used in window sashes. This window sash combines the subtle warmth and beauty of the wood grain with a functionality that is unprecedented. By using selective logging in the forests of Aomori prefecture, we ensure natural rejuvenation of the land and revitalization of the regional economy through local production and consumption.
