This project aimed at collaborative creation of innovative pattern design in which vernacular modern spirit of the community was visualized by means of Chusen dyeing that has been succeeded until today. Citizens, craftsmen, university people, designers and the municipal art museum cooperated to share the essence of design through workshops and the rediscovered cultural resources through public pattern design concours, of which best five works were elaborately made into Yukata fabric by the professionals. As a result, design literacy of the community was drastically enhanced than before.
