- Outline
A slope and outer walls of reinforced concrete surround the periphery of each room made of wood. You can go up to the rooftop by taking a gentle slope without steps, creating integration of space where vertical movement is close to horizontal movement, making you feel as if you were walking in a flat building although it is a three-story building. The reinforced concrete part bears most part of the seismic resistance, and the wooden part has a lot of flexibility when extending/reconstructing the house. The outer slope and the wooden rooms are separated by paper sliding doors. The slope serves as a veranda, creating an air layer. Paper sliding doors maintain privacy and also help to improve the cooling and heating efficiency. This is a house focusing on long life and comfort.
