Outline: Sudden cardiac deaths in Japan are about 76,000 per year. Even with witnesses, about half of them don't perform CPR at all. It's difficult to spread life-saving knowledge in workplaces and schools because expensive manikins are needed for training. Then, we established the method to perform chest compressions using plastic bottles and paper sheets, which is almost the same as the manikins.

Evaluation

While there is a rising argument whether plastic bottles are necessary from the perspective of sustainability, it is one of the responsibilities of us who live in the present times to think about how to make good use of it, rather than just regarding it as a nuisance. This idea enables us to easily practice CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation), which was difficult for many people to experience with conventional devices, with ordinary plastic bottles we find everywhere. For that purpose, an NPO collects data properly, enhances it to a state accurate enough to be used as a teaching material, and provides it in a sustainable manner. We highly evaluate the "overall" process design of this idea.
