Evaluation

With the immense waste generated by the fashion industry worldwide becoming a problem, we were impressed by this groundbreaking Japanese example of business design aimed at ensuring a recycling rate of 100% for polyester, which currently accounts for about 60% of all textiles manufactured. We greatly admired the way in which the impact of this initiative has spread. This company not only offers an end-to-end mechanism for recycling that covers everything from raw materials to yarn, fabric, and product manufacturing and sales, based on its proprietary chemical recycling technology, but also provides its mechanism and raw materials to other companies and has worked with many apparel companies, trading companies, and recycling companies to set up a platform for the collection of old clothes and the production of new items from them. As a new plant is now going into operation, we also highly praised the tremendous potential for this to become a global business that solves the problem of clothing waste worldwide.
