Despite the presence of several large cities in the surrounding area, the Seto Inland Sea—said to be the world’s most beautiful multi-island sea—has not, until now, had a high-speed cruise ship that served as a means of transport between most of its islands, while also allowing tourists to fully enjoy the charms of this area while relaxing on board. This vessel is a successful example of how to create a new kind of ship, using the power of design to overcome various constraints, including a size small enough to be able to berth at the ports of even the smaller islands, sufficient seats to be able to turn a profit, and a cruising speed enabling it to serve as a fast link between islands. The form expressing elegance and speed is also superb, with curves skillfully used on the twin hulls of this catamaran (a type of vessel renowned for being difficult to design).
