Outline

A casual spot for intermingling that brings together people, lifestyles and the community. The first-floor sales center is open to members of the community so locals and new building residents can get to know each other. In order to combat increasing alienation among community members—a trend seen throughout contemporary society—the sales center serves as a public space, event venue and more.

Evaluation

Apartment sales centers often set up on the ground level tend to suddenly appear and remain there without really blending into the surroundings until they become dismantled at the end of the sales. This idea completely overturns such pre-existing concept. The open sales center presents the upcoming gigantic multi-unit building as something positive to the local residents, giving them a rough idea of what the future neighbors will be like even before the apartment building is complete, while offering a comfortable place for the potential buyers to hang out. It demonstrates the potential for replacing the conventional print advertising with a spatial medium that brings people together.
