NAGORI, an innovative plastic created from seawater minerals. NAGORI has a similar texture to ceramic material while also has strength and processability. It's entirely new material with the potential to offer new levels of design freedom. Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. has used its state-of-the-art compounding technology to improve the material. This includes feeling of weight and ease of mass production, and thermal conductivity like ceramics. In the future, Mitsui Chemicals intend to take concentrate water produced as a by-product of seawater desalination process and use this to obtain minerals as raw materials for NAGORI. We are looking at true sustainability for the future through discussing how to create tangible solutions to tackle SDGs as a chemical company.
