概要

The mother company of no.30 is a traditional mechanic factory which was started 40 years ago. Before starting the OEM factory, the founder had been worked in different factories to learn the knowledge of hardware process. Nowadays, in order to enhance the technology of zinc casting to increase the industrial value and go for sustainable development, he and his daughter found brand no.30 which works with international designers to make products in simple and humble. After renewing the working process and application, the industrial fittings now turn into home decoration.

デザインコンセプト

Make traditional OEM factory review and renew the original procedures to increase diversified value.

背景

Zinc parts are for building and sanitary hardware in traditional OEM factory. With the benefits of massive production and reasonable cost, they were used to replace parts made in stainless steel and copper. The tolerance of zinc products is accurate and easy to assemble on other parts, so they usually made for fittings (e.g., drawer handles and stove knobs). Thus, we usually say that there are two faces on zinc parts: outside A face and inside B face for assembling. The original procedure was always focus on making face A pretty and place pin mark or hanging hole/stick on face B. In no.30 development, we apply zinc as no longer minor roles, but leading roles in daily life; the biggest challenge we overcame was to make every side in the same quality.

デザイナーの想い

The main intention is to offer durable and long-lasting objects in this market fulling of cheap and poor quality goods now. With new designs, no.30 focuses on enhancing the atmosphere of home, and increasing the using safety when objects place on the table or keep in hands. Moreover, make receivers know the sincerity of givers by feeling the texture and weight of no.30 product. In this virtual age, no.30 tries to connect real objects with people, place and time; and also makes users comfortable and relaxed in home space. Thus, objects are not just objects, they will become part of users' daily lives and memories. Moreover, this developing can also make industry sustainable and value up by expanding marketing demand from original techinic and material.

仕様

The application range of zinc is wide. However, it was seldom used for home decoration because of the difficulties of process. The mother company of no.30 has been developed OEM zinc products for 40 years and is good at designing molds, innovating procedures and combining with relative materials.

伝統的産業のモデルチェンジから見れば、no.30は既存製品の技術とアピアランスに応じ、美学的思考を加えており、デザイン手法と細部の処理が、「ブランド化」と「モデルチェンジ」を賢しくても決して複雑でない手本にしている。平板な伝統的産業のOEM製品が1つずつ机上に並べられる素敵な商品に変身したのは、異なる角度による観察方法、および非常に巧みな発想の転換によるものである。
