背景
The commodity masks that consumers wear to protect from air pollution are repurposed industrial respirator or dust-mask style respirators which are either over engineered and impractical for daily wear or inadequate in their filtration efficacy for ultra-fine particles - in fact, there is no such thing as a consumer-grade mask designed specifically for ambient air pollution. The existing options are not efficacious, comfortable, attractive or cost effective. AirPop is a paradigm shift in wearable environmental protection. It is like a performance garment rather than a protective device. It is a cost breakthrough for the manufacture of a medical-grade, hygienic, disposable product making affordable a level of quality and function that was previously not achievable in the consumer market.
