Rikuzentakata City in Iwate was greatly damaged by the tsunami due to the Great East Japan Earthquake, with the area the tsunami reached stretching for about 170 km. In order to minimize damage when the same thing happens again, we aim to reduce damage by planting cherry trees at the highest points the tsunami reached to hand down to posterity. We also hold lecture meetings all over Japan so that future generations will not forget the terror of a tsunami and the importance of preparedness. We raise awareness for those living in Japan, where there are a lot of natural disasters. In order to have the "Sakura Line" accepted by the residents as an asset of Rikuzentakata City, we advocate this activity as "community development" in collaboration with Rikuzentakata City.
