Evaluation

Based on a monotonously spaced private house built in 1950s, PMQ is ingeniously transformed into a public cultural and commercial landmark of diversely functional rooms. To revitalize the post-war building, the architect, while successfully retaining original simplicity and rationality implied, applies many strategic elements, including canopy, glass exhibition hall connecting two wings and two-story restaurant which successfully promotes its desirability, variety and integrity. However, renovated PMQ's success depends on its subsistent management and operation strategy.
