Outline

A museum converted from an old department store in the downtown area of Maebashi, which had been vacant for years, was reborn as a location connected to the street. It is a facility that attracts local residents having a totally new image while valuing the memory of the old facility. It is a "museum like a promenade in the city," where people would be guided into the museum when they took a casual walk on the street, by connecting the whole facility with various sizes of connected space, centered around a circular space called the "Promenade." The variously sized windows in the facility, and the various figures of the existing building that are intentionally left exposed create attractions that you cannot find in other museums. You can find fine art, the charm of the construction itself and activities of other people while walking around the facility.
