- Outline
This is a disaster restoration public housing project with 200 houses, the largest in Miyagi, in partnership with the town and the Urban Renaissance Agency, aiming for early restoration of Onagawa Town. The site was secured by using as a building site, an athletic field on a hill, which citizens have enjoyed using for years. The precast concrete method was employed to solve issues that arose during this restoration project such as a shortage of manpower and materials, which made it possible to complete houses with excellent habitability early. The project provides an independent living environment, giving consideration to the community, in light of "connection with people" which is the greatest asset of the town. The plan also benefits from the rich nature in Onagawa and carrying on the culture. These houses are a symbol of restoration and will be the first step in the community development of new Onagawa, keeping the communities that have been strengthened after the disaster.
