概要: Image Finder is a beautiful and intuitive way to present a large amount of content to the public. The content on the Image Finder screen can be sorted, categorized and selected all with a quick touch or turn of a dial. It allows visitors of an establishment to quickly see all of the content, and it provides them with an easy method to move into a digital, or analogue detailed experience.

サステナブル社会（持続可能な社会）の実現に向けて、応募対象が取り組んだこと

By linking Image Finder to actual books, we've redirected the focus from purely digital information back to a combination of digital and analog media. We're giving new life to the beautiful collection of books, that would've otherwise been thrown away and replaced with computers. On top of reusing old materials, the feeling of reading from a book compared to a computer screen is just amazing.

「身体・人間」の視点からみて、応募対象が提供できること

Usability and user-friendliness　As much as we love touch screens, for some tasks analogue controls are a better fit. We find that the combination of digital and analog UI design is the most beautiful form of interaction. The analogue dial on the Image Finder system makes the interaction enjoyable and the user feel in control of the information, which is something we deeply value in our designs.

「生活」の視点からみて、応募対象が提供できること

Suggestion of new etiquette or manner　Instead of using digital media to explain the correct way of thinking, we've opted to use it to inspire and motivate visitors of the museum of question and wonder about the objects they see. We encourage them to explore, by panning, zooming and quickly swapping between different categories. Museums should be an exciting journey, not a history book.

「産業」の視点からみて、応募対象が提供できること

Solution utilizing new technology　We wanted to create an incredible user experience to view content. Users should be able to zoom from a large overview, right into a high resolution image showing lots of detail. To do this we've developed a rendering engine that swaps low and high resolution images from RAM to the graphical memory on the fly, resulting in a smooth and beautiful zoom experience.

Creation of social or cultural value　Depending on the Image Finder system's location, it can generate social or cultural value. At a city office it could provide the inhabitants of the city with easy to access and valuable information about their surroundings, whereas at a research institute it could communicate the research to the public, as well as spiking a public debate.
