概要

Innovated in Sweden, the Blueair Sense has radically different design, new technology and eco-friendly materials for an out-of-the-box experience. Designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune, the Blueair Sense fits into any home or office environment. A unique interactive motion-sensitive glass top allows users to change speeds with simple hand swipes above the scratch¬proof surface. The low energy and whisper silent second generation HEPASilentPlus™ technology efficiently and quickly cleans the indoor air of harmful pollutants for enhanced health and wellbeing.

Most air purifiers are short-lived and plastic-based. Blueair’s heritage of extreme quality ensures very long product lifetime. With recyclable steel and glass, Sense is built to last. The filters come from recyclable materials. Air cleaners are meant to run 24/7: the energy consumption is a major part of the environmental footprint. Sense uses less power than a low-energy light bulb.

Clean air should be a basic human right. Indoor air can be 100 times more polluted than the air outdoors, increasing the risk of respiratory disease, heart disease as well as other serious health issues. Blueair Sense quickly and efficiently removes virtually all airborne particles in an indoor environment, including viruses, allergens, smoke particles, pollen and odors.

The environmental credentials of Blueair Sense are impeccable. Not only does the Blueair Sense remove virtually ALL indoor pollutants, including viruses, allergens, smoke particles, pollen and odors, it also is made of sustainable, mostly fully recyclable, materials such as steel and glass, while an ultra-silent fan operation uses less electricity than a low-energy light bulb.

審査委員の評価

上面から見た時の外周の4辺を直線でない大きなカーブにして本体側面を優しい2次曲面にするなど、単純な構造と優れた材料の使い方により、極めて完成度の高い美しい造形がなされており、制作者の高いデザイン力を感じる。特に側面の吸排気のための穴を、穴のない部分との急激な変化を避けるために穴の大きさや形状を変化させた点や、天面のガラスに非接触操作を取り入れた点などが、シンプルな基本形状を引き立てている。
