Evaluation

This Jewish cultural center built in Brazil features a dense collage of three-dimensional fiberglass cutouts of words in Hebrew that have to do with such themes as literature, art, and psychology as they relate to Jewish history, set against a brick wall. The use of Hebrew letters, each with meanings of their own, staggered and layered in different sizes and thicknesses, becomes a fa ade with a profundity of its own. It is these elements that provide the novelty of this design. The effect of an abstract curtain when light enters the building behind is beautiful. This splendid work of layered words evokes layers of history and serves as an elegant expression of Jewish culture.
