This is an instrument created on the basis of expertise in manufacturing high-quality handcrafted guitars integrated with digital technology. Standard violin parts are used for the main components of the instrument without alteration, and with due consideration to balancing weight, they have succeeded in producing a violin that is both lightweight and silent, with audio energy that is as little as 1% that of an acoustic violin. An internal sensor detects the vibrations produced as the player draws the bow across the strings, and after adjusting the tone color and adding a resonance effect through digital signal processing, the electronic devices produce the timbre of a violin. This allows even beginning players to produce a stable tone easily, and if they wear headphones, they can enjoy performing without disturbing anyone else. If necessary, the Silent Violin can be connected to an amplifier to produce sound or to a CD player or other electronic instruments to allow joint performances, thus giving everyone new ways to enjoy the unique qualities of the electric violin.
