Outline

QHM-21 is a portable HSUPA USB MODEM. When plugging into a USB port of a PC (Notebook), QHM-21 with a build-in SIM card allows users to access internet with 3G telecom network. QHM-21 utilizes dual antennas that improve signal reception. Inspired by ladybug, the antennas can be swung open or retracted like a ladybug's wings, with one touch on the button, to activate the wireless connection. The design creates an interesting association of "free wireless connection" with "careless flying of a ladybug". This slim and compact device also serves as a portable USB flash drive.

Evaluation

Compared to a variety of exciting designs of the memory sticks in recent days, the USB modems still give a simple and sturdy impression, but this product represents pleasure, reminding us of a colorful insect. We had an impression that the designer himself enjoyed designing it. The wing part of the imaginary insect has also a practical function as antenna, and this product offers a commendable design integrating fun, style and function.
