The three sections of the Experience Color web site virtually translate the aesthetics of Japanese beauty into high-quality full screen images and high-quality audio. Two of the pieces bring traditional Japanese colors to life in high-quality animation. The first, What color is life?, features a charming goldfish who navigates the "colors of life". The second, Colors of shadows, reproduces the brooding colors of the world created on the noh stage to illustrate themes of "light and shadow". The viewer does not just passively watch these pieces. Rather by interacting with the images, he or she is an active participant who helps create a new experience of color. The interactive A garden of colors, the third piece on the web site, brings paintings from Japanese folding screens to life in scenes that change, with users accessing the piece to collaborate in creating art. When the application is running, the user moves the cursor to touch different colors, which accumulate at the bottom of the screen. The colors touched either intentionally or unintentionally, combine to create a new piece of collaborative art.
