Outline

This art museum was built in the center of Kanazawa City. It features an interactive zone and an art museum zone. Because the site is accessible from any direction, a circular design was chosen for the building. Around the outside circumference is the interactive zone, consisting of a theater and a library, so that even without a ticket visitors may casually stroll around the perimeter of the facility. The central part of the building is the art museum zone, which consists of 19 different exhibition rooms of varying sizes distributed around an open space. This design creates an environment where there is no need to establish a specific route for visitors to follow, so people are free to wander through the exhibition rooms at will.
