Outline

Although located in the center of Roppongi, it is a corner where small houses and apartments are lined up. A plan for an office that responds to new lifestyles changing due to the COVID-19 impact, and has comfort like a living space. By maximizing the the void in the city, we created a terrace-like architecture that connects the unique landscapes and allows the wind and light to pass through.

Evaluation

A design of an office building built on sloped land in Roppongi. This, however, looks like an apartment rather than an office because each office is equipped with a kitchen and a shower room. It seems to be a proposal for new usage and building type in line with the current lifestyle where "work” and "life” are mixed, such as recent promotion of work from home and living offices, while going beyond the past architectural use categories where "work" and "life" have been separated. The floor skipped along the inclined slab on the sloped land visually connects the roofs below and the greenery and sky of the park above to the living space, giving a spatial expanse beyond the floor area. At the same time, it blocks the view from the park and protects privacy. The inclined slab structure conforming to the sloped land is applied not for securing an office area as merely an effective working place, but for realizing a rich space where "work” and "life” can coexist. We highly evaluate this project, as it is a good example guiding us to a place where people can work and live in the future.
