Outline: "Double World House" is a reconstruction of a two-family house. This residence corresponds to changes in lifestyle and society. By creating two variable areas in a house, which enables to accept various two areas such as two-family house, residence and store, wife and husband, work and home. This project is working with a house builder. The residence will adapt to change for the next generation.

Evaluation

As expressed by the words "Nisekai Jutaku (house with two worlds)”, this is a new proposal that refreshes the idea of housing space, by exceeding the concept of an ordinary two-household house, and by recognizing a house as a relationship between two different domains that change depending on the situation. There are many types of "nisekai (two worlds)”, for example, when a couple want to spend some time independently, or when children need their own domain as they grow. The spatial structure that allows flexible separation of two domains is cleverly designed, and suggests that this will become one of the models of housing structure. The collaboration of a major design company and architects is a great attempt for the future.
