It is design of public signs for the visitor installed in Aikawa area, important cultural landscape of the country, where was noted for the largest gold production across Japan from the end of the 16th century to the end of the 20th century. The conception of this design was integration of the sign and the cultural landscape in order to experience mining area in mountains, mining townscape and Japan Sea as series. It was achieved by designing the area’s sign system not only for clear induction, but also capable of cooperation with historical properties or mobility network.
