概要

The 'Anchalee' living set was created and designed for our 2006 Collection theme of 'Sculpture Art'. All designs in this collection are more artistically inclined rather than functional furniture. Forms are designed follow the emotion. The Anchalee unit system has a free-form concept that does not have a distinct or pre-determined function. It can be used a lounge furniture, a love seat, daybed or as sculpture art.

Jitrin wanted to create a piece that had an open-ended evolution process to it. This means that he wanted to create something that could be further personalized by the end-user.

社会・文化および地球環境の視点から解決すべき問題点

As for the environmental conjunction with this project, Corner 43 D_cor uses Rattan from registered and certified rattan groves which are replenished and sustainable. Rattan itself is also considered as a more eco-friendly material than wood, since its economic value can help protect forest land, by providing an alternative to loggers who forgo timber logging and harvest rattan canes instead.

その問題点に対し、どのように対応したか

This piece had posed a slight cultural problem due to the nature of the unconventional shape of the Anchalee. The design director had to work closely with the factory manger to communicate the way he wanted the piece to look. This was a innovative process, and carpenters and the rattan weavers had to have an open-mind to figure out what techniques could be used to best accomplish the desired look.
