MOTORCYCLE / R1
Powered by a 2-stroke 348cc engine, the R1 was launched in 1967 as Yamaha's largest displacement sport bike. Featuring a 5-port pistonvalve engine design and the new Autolube system, this model achieved high power output. The chassis featured an adjustable steering damper and other functions for delivering superior dynamic performance as a sport bike. At the time it was Yamaha’s deluxe flagship model, boasting exterior design with an impressive, solid presence and a truly Yamaha look of quality while retaining the lightness that a sport model demanded.
