ENELOOP, RECHARGEABLE Ni-MH BATTERIES
"eneloop" is the inaugural product of SANYO's new vision - "Think GAIA." Building on the “Think GAIA" precept of - "Energy: Creating a clean-energy society," it was developed to be a “No throwaway" battery having “No impact on the environment." Through it we propose a new lifestyle in which there is “no disposal of batteries." We have created extremely simple/clean-looking graphic designs for the battery and outer case, which are unique among today's rechargeable and dry cell batteries.
Thanks to its low self-discharge characteristic, this rechargeable battery is sold charged and therefore ready for immediate use after purchase. The energy residual rate of an “eneloop" battery stored unused for one year is approximately 85% (a world first). It can be recharged over 1,000 times and is recyclable at the end of its life. This greatly contributes to a reduction in environmental burden. The outer case also functions as a battery storage case. From its body to outer case the design of the “eneloop" adheres to the concept of a “No throwaway" battery. Only one kind of material, recycled PET, is used for packaging (battery tube/outer case), which enables reduction of waste by 87% compared to the packaging of our company's existing rechargeable batteries.
