Promotion Method
During the past half-century, the G Mark has been used effectively and with respect by many award-winning companies, with the result that public awareness within Japan now stands at the high level of an average 86%* nationwide. The logo is widely known among the general public as a trustworthy indicator of excellence, both in design and overall quality. Surveys have found that, when making a choice between two similar products, consumers are likely to opt for the one bearing the G Mark, an indication of its broad appeal among consumers. The G Mark is also thought to be a highly effective means of opening up new marketing routes and securing public financing.

Good Design Award is not only useful in marketing. The award is also used to help authenticate a firm or designer's capabilities to a third party, and more recently more and more designers are capitalizing on this award as a form of intellectual property rights.
G Mark can be used to promote Good Design Award award-winning products in a wide range of ways, such as advertisements, catalogs, product packaging, sales promotional goods, and in-store POP displays.
The full scope of G Mark advantages has not as yet been thoroughly explored. We are working with firms and designers who have received the award to develop new uses for the G Mark.
