Application to use

Before using the G Mark in printed matter, on a Web site, or to publicize your product's award in other ways, you must submit an "Application to Use the G Mark" to the JIDPO and pay the specified yearly fee.

Application Process

  • or an award winner (company) to use the G Mark, the company must submit an "Application to Use the G Mark" to the JIDPO, either via the Internet or by sending a completed application form.
  • The JIDPO will check the content of the application and issue an invoice to the award winner.
  • Once receipt of payment has been confirmed, the JIDPO will issue invoice to the award winner.

*Eligibility for application

Only winners of the Good Design Award are eligible to apply to use the G Mark with respect to winning products.
  • Sales companies affiliated with award winners, advertising agencies, and other third parties may only apply to use the G Mark as the representatives of the award winners and with their consent. The "Certificate of Permission to Use the G Mark" will be issued directly to award winners in such cases as well.
  • When a third party uses the G Mark for an award-winning product for which a "Certificate of Permission to Use the G Mark" has already been issued, no further procedures are necessary with respect to the JIDPO.
  • Please consult the JIDPO separately in cases where a distribution or sales agent other than an award-winning company (or its representative as described above) wishes to use the G Mark to promote sales of an award-winning product.
  • Please consult the JIDPO separately in cases where a media organization other than an award-winning company (or its representative as described above) wishes to use the G Mark in a description of an award-winning product.
