2009 Good Design Awards: Types of Awards

The Good Design Awards program consist of "Good Design Award", "Good Design Long Life Design Award", "Good Design Frontier Design Award", and special awards chosen from Good Design Award winners.
The organizer presents "Good Design Award", "Long Life Design Award", and "Frontier Design Award" to the entries that are approved as outstanding by jury committee.
For the most outstanding entries, special awards such as "Good Design Grand Award" and "Good Design Gold Award" are presented.
Other than these, new special awards may be setup and presented.

Products that pass the specified standards based on the results of screening will be honored Good Design Awards.

Particularly outstanding entries among all the entries applied for the Good Design Long Life Design Awards.

Good Design Frontier Design Award

Particularly outstanding entries among all the entries applied for the Good Design Frontier Design Awards.

Good Design Special Awards

Good Design Grand Award

The most outstanding entry among all the awarded entries.

Good Design Gold Award

Particularly outstanding entries among all the awarded entries.

Good Design Sustainable Design Award

Particularly outstanding entries with a view to achieving a sustainable society on the basis of global environmental issues among all the awarded entries.

Good Design Life-Scape Design Award

Particularly outstanding entries among all the awarded entries that are judged to have gained the support of consumers due to their contemporary sensitivities and feature a high-quality finish and sense of style.

Good Design Award of Small and Medium Enterprises

Particularly outstanding entries among all the awarded entries produced by small and medium enterprises.

Good Design Award of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Particularly outstanding entries among all the awarded entries that contribute to the development of industry and society; the realization of a generous life of people, activation of regional economy, and improvement of the welfare of general society.
