2008 Good Design Awards: Information Disclosure
Please understand and cooperate with our policy of information disclosure described below.
Good Design Awards promotes involvement of general public and deepens their understanding of design through active disclosure of information on subject entries throughout its awarding process: from screening to announcement of winners.
"Good Design Finder" - the database which stores all awarded items from past 50 years is aimed at offering information on evaluation from third-party to general public appropriately.
1) Information to be disclosed
The organizer (JIDPO) will disclose information on the title and outline of subject entry, name of the designers, and so on. Subject entries to be disclosed are marked as "disclosed" on the application form.
Subject entries not marked so will not be disclosed and will be used for screening only.
2) Date and content of information disclosure
The organizer will disclose information as described below.

2-1) Disclosure of entries undergoing the first screening on the internet
Date: August 1 - September 3, 2008
Subject: Subject entries which applicants wish disclosure among entries undergoing the first screening
Media: The Good Design Awards Website (http://www.g-mark.org)
Information confirmed on the disclosed information fixing webpage in the company navigation page during the disclosed information correction period which follows immediately after the announcement of the 1st screening results. The applicants confirm content of information and decide whether they disclose information on the subject entry which passed the 1st screening on the website or not.
The organizer will not disclose information on the subject entry which applicants do not wish disclosure.
The organizer collects comments from viewers of the website during the disclosure period. Comments from viewers may be considered in the 2nd screening.

2-2) Disclosure of actual items and exhibition caption cards at the GOOD DESIGN EXPO
Date: August 22-24, 2008 (Disclosure period during the GOOD DESIGN EXPO)
Subject: Subject entries which applicants accept disclosure among other subject entries undergoing the 1st screening
Venue: Tokyo Big Sight (Ariake, Tokyo)
Content: Actual items installed on the venue; as well as the information confirmed on the disclosed information fixing webpage in the company navigation page during the disclosed information correction period which follows immediately after announcement of the 1st screening results.
Please refer to the " Supplement: Entry of Undisclosed Subject Entries" in case that the items cannot be exhibited during the GOOD DESIGN EXPO period for reasons such as the items are not released yet at the time of GOOD DESIGN EXPO.

2-3) Announcement of winners
Date: October 8, 2008
Subject: All awarded items
Media: The Good Design Awards Website (http://www.g-mark.org). ["Winners" section which announces the results, and the "Good Design Finder" section which introduces all awarded items.]
Content: Information confirmed on the disclosed information fixing webpage in the company navigation page during the disclosed information correction period which follows immediately after the announcement of the 2nd screening results. The applicants confirms the date of disclosure and the content of information on the entries passed the 2nd screening on the website.
As a general rule, information on the awarded items will be disclosed on October 8. However, the disclosure date may be postponed until December 31, 2008 upon request from applicants.

2-4) Publishing of Yearbook
Date: January, 2009
Subject: All awarded items
Media: The Good Design Award Yearbook
Content: Information entered on the Yearbook information editing webpage in the company navigation page during the publishing information confirmation period which follows immediately after the announcement of the 2nd screening results.
3) Copyright
The copyright regarding information on subject entries (including images) given by the applicants are inhered in the applicants. Applicants must agree with the organizer to use information in scope of screening and information disclosure specified above. Applicants must agree with the organizer to use information on awarded items in scope of appearance on the Yearbook, database, and other Good Design Award promotional activities.
The Applicants must agree with the organizer that information may be modified in light of its purpose and aspect when information is used.
4) Confidentiality obligation regarding unreleased products
The organizer, Judges, and related party are obligated to duty of confidentiality regarding nondisclosure information and information to be disclosed in the future.
